    Gillette Stadium

As I write this, I sit in a Maryland Flying J. We are waiting on three loads of laundry and still have at least three more to do. Maybe we will wait until the morning or tomorrow evening. We had kind of a bad day compared to the rest. We tried to find an oil change place that will accommodate RVs. We tried a jiffy lube after calling them and them saying they could do it. The RV did not quite fit into the bay. Then we tried a TA 10 miles back in the opposite direction just to find out that they only do diesel engines. All that after driving 30 minutes out of our way to find a camping ground to dump some water. Only we didn’t because it was $45 just to dump bad water. With the constant rain, all that put us about three hours behind and so instead of visiting with Aunt Holly, we get to visit with each other, again.

So that was today. Yesterday was pretty incredible since it was my first time in Fenway. And this wasn’t an ordinary trip to the famous Green Monster. I receive a free ticket from a very nice family that just happened to be going to the game with an extra ticket and didn’t want to scalp it. And not only was it free, this ticket was behind home plate about twenty rows back. Absolutely awesome! Plus the Sox won. Singing Sweet Caroline was pretty cool. Boston continues to be a great city and we even got to see Kevin James filming a new movie, “Zoo Keeper” while we were there.

Monday was great as well. A special thanks to Bill McCance for taking me to my first Monday Night and Patriots game. It was a pleasure to meet you and be your guest for the game.

Gillette Stadium is pretty nice and I rank it second to Heinz field right now. The amenities were the best and the parking was cheaper and easily accessible, but the view at Heinz makes it better. The game was also huge and an incredible ending. But why would the Bill’s Leodis McKelvin run the ball out of the endzone with less than two minutes to play? I always preached about not fair catching a punt, but with the game on the line, and as a returner you know that the other team is looking to strip the ball, just take a knee. It made for a Tom Brady comeback and the fans were pretty stoked. It was a wicked win for the Patriots.

So did you get the cookies or not? Sounds like the little things are causing you a little havoc, but with the three of your heads together – you will persevere! All in all, sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks for all the updates here as well as facebook. It is always fun to hear what your days/nights are like. P.S. Don’t forget your cousin is leaving on Monday for boot camp ~ send her some well wishes. Love you guys – stay safe! Aunt Martha (sounds so old doesn’t it)Lol.

    2. Ok I see you Rookies need some info. to make your journey a smidge less stressful when it comes to keeping “SURVIVIN” happy….#1 go to Camping World on Google , there are 10 pages of them from one end of the country to the other , they are the biggest in RV Sales & Service , you name it and they have it + fix it , find the one closest to your next destination call ahead and see if they have the book that lists all of them across the country this way you can mark the ones you’ll be close to along the way . # 2 go to Service Centers For RV’S on Google 10 pages of them bad boys also , pick your poison guys wherever you heading there is one , pay attention to Billboards, Camping World always has one up & most of these places are right off a ramp and as a bonus most have Dump Sites the billboards & google will tell you who . What all this does is give you piece of mind if you need something or if something breaks & in case you need a tow , that would Bite but at least you won’t be at the Mercy of the HOOK PERSON . #3 next time you fuel up at FLYING J see if they still offer the REWARDS PROGRAM they have one specifically for RV’S , just like a credit card you slide it before you start pumping , there is a application to fill out and they usually send the card in the mail I think you can get a temporary one at the desk ? , the more you use it the more of a discount you get, with the amount of miles you guys are doing yikes spikes you’ll save a bunch + it’s good for all purchases inside also . #4 as tempting as it will be ” NO HITCHHIKERS ” it’s not like it use to be , the back east crew is heading South & West it’s getting cold , you’ll always see them on the ramps by the fuel stops , the cops usually chase them off but they always sneak back , they like to use kids to get you to stop ” DON’T ” I know it will make you nuts just keep going & you’ll always have the ones at the fuel stop bothering you at the pumps you guys have the perfect excuse with all that badging just say it’s a company van ” NO RIDERS ALLOWED ” # 4 Don’t forget to use your biggest ASSET of all THE HARD CORE FULL TIME RV’ERS , they have every answer to everything and anything to do with life on the road & they LOVE to talk & talk and as a Bonus for you guys 97% are VETS. you guys are golden I can see some home cooked meals in your future….That’s it no more lecturing (humor) Keep Your Windows & Mirrors Clean & remenber I know it’s fun but those Striped Construction Barrels aren’t Targets ……

Ok, I thought we agreed a long time ago you would never call me “Aunt”! Both Nick and I were a bit bummed that we couldn’t see you guys, but totally understand the circumstances. Sounds like you guys are having fun, but learning a few things the hard way. We can’t wait till you make your way back through Baltimore in Nov!
      See you then!
