    Pitt Stop - at Mel's

While on our way to Pittsburgh, we added a few more peeps…Pick ‘em up! So we are at a new max capacity on the “Real Aggressive.” Five total and a few more beers. Go figure that Dan and Laura would bring half their weight in beer. But we managed to fit everything aboard and made it to the Walmart in Somerset, PA, about 70 miles outside The Burgh. The original plan was to make a quick stop at Walmart to gather some supplies for gameday and head into Pittsburgh. If you know any of us on the trip, the “quick” part will never happen, especially in the multi-faceted superstore. A few supplies and a Guitar Hero later, we made a quick decision and headed to the nearest bar, Mel’s. It was everything we expected and more; Live music, the Golden Girls on TV, Sam the bartender, and T-Bone. If we head through Somerset again, we will definitely stop by and grab a cold beer.

We are currently working on getting to Heinz Field, albeit without a parking pass or any idea of where to go. Plus, The Black Eyed Peas and Tim McGraw will be playing so it is down to be crowded early. We only have one seat for this game but the rest will be rocking out on Guitar Hero. Come on by and join in on the supped up Karaoke. We will post our exact location once we figure that out, and if anyone reading this has a good suggestion, please let us know. Today’s outcome:

HELLO! OMG! I went to show my husband, Mike, the website that Laura was telling me about yesterday when I was talking to her and she was sitting at the table in the RV… and what-do-ya-know??? there’s my sister smiling back at me from the computer. Not the first picture I’ve seen of her smiling at a bar… but happy to know she’s with good people. Mike & I are down in Tampa, so you’ll have to hit us up when you’re down here in January. Have a wonderful time traveling around. Be safe! Go Army!

I’m surprised Dan & Laura had any beer left!!!

    3. As a transplanted Cleveland Oh. person I.E. ” BROWNS ” there isn’t a good place to stay in Rust Town /Pitt. hence the word Pitt. (almost humor) .
So how go the travels ? any issues with the motorized rolling palace ? what was the loss of power about in Fla. ? what has the reaction been from people so far ? .
Your heading into the old stomping grounds of Ohio , caution !!!! Ohio Road Mounties have ” O “/ Zip sense of humor keep it under 100 , Ohio State is insane when Feet Ball is involved , if you get a chance head over to High Street (intense) you’ll be a big hit they love their sports in Ohio ( all that cold weather makes them ” Fevered Fans “…..I assume you’ll be heading down 71 to Cincy. my condolences boring ride play music LOUD….Hint..if you go over a really neat bridge over the Ohio River after downtown and a sign says WELCOME TO KENTUCKY…I’ll play GPS..at your first opportunity TURN AROUND stadium is behind you…Ok Guys have fun Travel Safe
Oh Yeah quick hint…every time you enter a new state ” ALWAYS ALWAYS ” stop at the Welcome Center…they are the biggest, the cleanest, free maps, coffee , great places for Power Naps or Over Night , always have Security 24 hrs., great places to park ” BIG RIGS ” . I know you guys like Walmart most newbees do , why do you think they let people park there , start adding up your receipts , after you pick yourself off the floor you answered you own question just a hint…Ohhh another one “FLYING J’S” have the cheapest fuel & the best buffets all day & the hottest water (caution)….Later

Thanks for the tips. The trip is going great and we are only having small issues with the rolling palace. In Tallahassee, we had too many things plugged in and blew a circuit breaker. We couldn’t figure it out for a few hours, but we eventually did, so no worries. It is a learning experience to say the least.

We definitely hit up high street last night and enjoyed the festivities.

Luckily if we go over 70 our gas mileage drops to about 3 mpg. So I don’t think we will have any issues with speeding.

        Take care, Nate

You make some very great points that all should follow! I will need to use some of them! It for sure cant be that easy as the many people make it seem. You really ought to be very persistenet and one should never give up. The results will show in due time.
