    Everything is Bigger in Texas

So we’ve hit our first major speed bump along the way but we still made it to both the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys games. We had to get some work done on the RV (plugs, wires, and exhaust manifold) and it wasn’t complete by Sunday. So we rented a car, woke up early on Sunday and drove to Houston from Dallas. It was difficult to get up early since we were at a fantastic wedding the night before (Congrats Matty and Jen), but easily doable.

The Texans donated three outstanding tickets and we arrived early to the stadium to checkout the tailgating and the stadium itself. Unfortunately we did not have the RV because in Houston cars and RVs park in the same lots and that is what were have been looking for since we started. RVs stand out in a car parking lot and gather a little more attention. So we missed out on some good tailgating. The stadium itself was really nice. It was an indoor stadium with a retractable roof (it was closed for the game) and we also received a Texans red T-shirt as we walked into the stadium. TVs, food and bathrooms were plentiful and the crowd was pleasant. Thanks Kandyace for the seats and parking passes. Reliant Stadium is currently in the top five.

We drove back to Dallas that same day and then went to the Cowboys game on Monday night. The new Cowboys Stadium is first rate and gigantic. During the pre-game activities, Jerry Jones and the Mitsubishi Rep received the official Guinness Book of World Record plaque for the largest HD video screens. Equivalent to over 3000 52-inch HD screens. Amazing! The stadium is definitely catered to suites and club sections. There are almost six different levels of suites, to include field level suites. Also there are three levels of club seating on either side of the field. The one thing I did not like about the stadium was being on the first level, I could not walk around the entire stadium. Because of the club sections, each end zone seating area is secluded from each other. But a great experience nonetheless. Plus we got to see the Cowboys win their first regular season game in the new Stadium. A special thanks to Delanie for the incredible seats and parking. The Cowboys Stadium is definitely the nicest we’ve been to so far. It will be hard to top.

Next up is to get our RV back hopefully today and head up north towards Chicago area. I am excited to see Notre Dame because I’ve always been a fan and I was pretty close to going there at one point in my life. Also Chicago will probably be the biggest tailgate so get ready for Sunday.

p.s. Broncos won in overtime against Chandler. We scored with about 53 seconds left to tie it up; we won the coin toss, gave them the ball, they scored, we blocked the extra point, we scored, extra point good 27-26! Red Mountain on Friday – GO BRONCOS!
